The Golden Eared dove that has been made famous from the thousands of reports by wingshooters returning from dove hunting in Cordoba Argentina can also be extended to the wonderful little country of Uruguay—located just across the rivers from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Argentine cities of Colon, and Concordia. The Uruguay River divides the Colon and Paysandu (one of our premier locations for Uruguay bird hunting), and Concordia and the city of Salto are opposite in the northern area. Los Gauchos offers excellent fishing in Uruguay in Salto, as well as pigeon hunting.
However, the location featured in this website is our “Paloma Colonia” destination, located in the pristine southern region of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, adjacent to the historic city of Colonia, a city easily accessible in only one hour via a large, fast, and comfortable hydrofoil from the port in downtown Buenos Aires. Many of our customers combine a great weekend in Buenos Aires before and/or after this Uruguay dove hunt.
The dove hunting trip in Uruguay is a 3 day dove hunt including a half day shoot, two full days, and half day shoot on the final day. This gives the wing-shooter and his group an opportunity to explore the country of Uruguay or head over to Buenos Aires and see the big city of South America.
